ABOUT DR. PEREZ

Dr. Perez is a native of Havana, Cuba. After completing medical school, a family of medicine residency, ophthalmology residency and a Vitreoretinal Disease Surgical Fellowship in Havana, she practiced as a Vitreoretinal surgical specialist for 3 years in Havana before moving to the United States in 2013. After arriving in the U.S., she completed a Medical Retina Fellowship with the University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She then completed a 2-year Surgical Retina Fellowship at the University of Florida Department of Ophthalmology where she also assisted with the training of the ophthalmology residents. She has received numerous awards and honors throughout her years of training and practice. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and she has also authored numerous publications in several medical journals (2010-2020) and participated in numerous volunteer missions (1995-2007).
